Internship Summary: Development of a Website for Le Castell Canet

During my internship, I successfully designed and developed a complete website for the restaurant Le Castell Canet, handling the project from initial conception to final deployment. The primary objective was to enhance the restaurant's online presence and improve its accessibility for both local and international audiences.

Wireframing and Prototyping: Designed the website structure and user interface to align with the client's vision.

Frontend Development: Created a responsive and user-friendly interface using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, ensuring compatibility across devices.

Backend Integration: Configured server hosting and domain management using OVH, enabling stable website deployment with efficient DNS settings.

SEO Optimization: Implemented meta tags, structured data, and optimized content to improve the website's search engine ranking.

Content Management: Integrated high-quality multimedia, such as photos and animations, to enhance user engagement and reflect the restaurant's aesthetic.

Multilingual Accessibility: Collaborated with translators to produce content in multiple languages, catering to a diverse clientele in a tourist-heavy region.

Challenges and Solutions

I encountered several challenges during the project, including adapting the site for mobile devices, managing delays in receiving required content, and addressing performance issues related to image size. To overcome these, I implemented placeholder content during development, optimized image loading times, and refined the mobile design for seamless user experiences.

Skills Gained

This project allowed me to enhance my technical expertise in web development, particularly in CSS, JavaScript, and SEO. Additionally, I strengthened my project management skills, learned to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, and developed problem-solving strategies to address real-world challenges.

Despite this project being outside my preferred domain, it was an enriching experience that equipped me with valuable skills applicable to future endeavors in web development and beyond.
